Backsplash materials we install

We install ceramic and porcelain tile, natural stone (marble, travertine, slate), glass tile, subway tile, penny round, zellige, and custom mosaic. For kitchens, the material choice affects maintenance; some materials are more porous and require more sealing and care in a high-grease environment.

We give you honest guidance on what performs well behind a cooktop vs. what works better in lower-splash areas. The decision is yours, but you make it knowing what the maintenance looks like.

Layout and pattern planning

Backsplash layout matters more than most people realize before they see it done wrong. Grout lines have to be planned relative to the countertop edge, the underside of the upper cabinets, and any focal feature like a range hood or a window.

Tile patterns herringbone, stacked, brick offset, vertical stack all have different material waste and installation complexity. We plan the layout on paper before we set a single tile. That avoids the scenario where a pattern runs into a corner with a sliver cut that looks like a mistake.

Working around outlets and switches

Kitchen backsplash installation always involves cutting around outlets, switches, and sometimes lighting fixtures. We cut tile to fit flush against the outlet box, coordinate with the electrician if new outlets are being added as part of a remodel, and install matching or complementary outlet covers that sit flat against the tile surface.

It is a small detail, but it is one of the things that separates a professional installation from a weekend DIY job.

Grouting and sealing

Grout selection affects the look and the maintenance. Sanded grout for wider joints, unsanded for narrow. Epoxy grout for areas that get heavy grease exposure, like directly behind a gas range. After grouting, we seal both the tile (if porous) and the grout to protect against staining.

In a kitchen, that sealing step is not optional an unsealed grout line behind a cooktop is a permanent grease trap within a year. We do it right the first time.

What backsplash installation costs in Central Florida

Backsplash installation pricing depends on linear footage, material cost, and pattern complexity. Simple subway tile is less expensive than a full-height zellige installation behind a range. Labor is charged per square foot. Material varies widely.

We provide a fixed-price quote after selecting the material and confirming the layout so you know the total cost before we start.

Common Questions

Questions about backsplash installation in Winter Garden

A standard kitchen backsplash takes 1–2 days for installation, plus a day for grout curing before sealing. Total project time from start to sealed finish is typically 3–4 days.

Yes. The range area is a focal point in most kitchens and often gets a different or more detailed treatment — full-height tile, a pattern feature, or a different material. We plan and execute that installation as part of the full backsplash scope.

Yes. Backsplash is a standalone service. If your countertops and cabinets are staying, we can remove the old backsplash (if there is one) and install new tile without disrupting the rest of the kitchen.

Yes. Removing old tile often leaves damaged drywall. We repair the substrate before tiling so the new installation has a flat, solid surface. That repair is included in the scope — we do not tile over a damaged wall.

Lighter grout shows grease more. Darker grout hides it but stains differently. Epoxy grout is the most stain-resistant option for high-use areas. We walk you through the options relative to your tile and give a recommendation for your specific kitchen.
